The first Hope varsity women's lacrosse team excelled in the classroom as well as on the field.

Coach Tracy Benjamin's Flying Dutch received the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Team GPA Award for the 2013 season after posting a team GPA of 3.357.

The MIAA Team GPA Award is presented to conference teams that achieve a 3.300 or better grade point average.

Faculty Athletic Representatives of MIAA member colleges administer the program. Hope's Faculty Athletic Representatives for 2012-13 were Lynne Hendrix, professor of accountancy, and Dr. Mark Pearson, assistant professor of mathematics.
