Hope punter Dean DeVries has been selected the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Special Teams Player of the Week, the league announced today.

The sophomore from Grand Rapids (Grandville HS) averaged 47.4 yards on five punts, including a long punt of 53 yards and one punt downed inside the opponent's 5-yard-line, in Hope's 14-7 loss to Illinois Wesleyan on Saturday.

DeVries is being honored as MIAA Player of the Week for the first time in his career.
