Hope-Kalamazoo Women's Basketball Preview

Tonight's game is the 88th between the Hope and Kalamazoo women's basketball teams.

Tipoff is 7:30 p.m. at DeVos Fieldhouse. There is no junior varsity game beforehand.

Hope leads the all-time series by an 82-5 margin, including victories last season of 87-37 and 90-38.

The Flying Dutch are ranked second in this week's USA Today III NCAA Division III coaches poll and fifth by d3hoops.com.

Hope ranks in the top 10 of five NCAA Division III categories — scoring margin (4th at plus-27.4), offense (6th at 86.7), steals (6th at 15.4), rebounding margin (7th at plus-12.6) and turnover margin (7th at plus-9.43).

This season, Lorence & Vander Zwart wants to reward Hope basketball for outstanding performance. Every time the Flying Dutch shoot 75 percent or better from the DeVos Fieldhouse free-throw line, Lorence & Vander Zwart will donate $75 to the Athletes Coming Together/Student Athlete Advisory Committee (ACT/SAAC), a group dedicated to the promotion of unity, camaraderie, communication and common purpose among all Hope student-athletes.

The Flying Dutch's next game is Wednesday, Jan. 22, when they play at Albion. Tipoff is 7:30 p.m. Hope's next home game is Jan. 29 against Olivet.
