The Hope College men's basketball team resumes Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association play on Wednesday, Jan. 22, when it travels to Alma College.
Tipoff is 7:30 p.m. at Alma's Art Smith Arena. The Flying Dutchmen lead the rivalry that dates back to 1911 by a 141-43 margin, including wins last season of 83-69 and 92-74.

Hope enters with a 9-6 overall record. Coach Matt Neil's Flying Dutchmen are 3-1 in MIAA play and tied for second place in the league with Calvin and Trine. Albion is tops at 4-1 after beating Olivet Tuesday.
Alma is 2-12 overall and 1-2 in MIAA action.

Hope faces an opponent that is averaging 72.7 points per game, good for fourth in the MIAA. Alma is yielding 84.9 points per game, good for seventh.
Hope is scoring 71.8 points per game for sixth in the MIAA and allowing 72.1 for fifth in the league rankings.
Sophomore guard Ben Gardner of Carmel, Ind. (Carmel HS), tops the Flying Dutchmen at 13.3 points per game. He is 11th-highest scorer in the MIAA and ranks second in assists at 3.53 per game.
Sophomore guard Alex Eidson of Grand Haven (Grand Haven HS) is tied for 14th in the MIAA at 12.1 points per game.
Alma's top scorer is forward Isiah Law. The senior is ninth in the MIAA at 13.9 points per game. Two teammates also are ranked in the top 20: sophomore guard Scott Nikodemski (16th at 11.6 points per game) and sophomore forward DJ Beckman (19th at 11.1 ppg).
