Box Score 2 Senior Jenna Grasmeyer tied a school record for kills in a three-set match as the top-ranked Hope College volleyball team continued its best start in school history on Saturday.
The Flying Dutch defeated DePauw (Indiana) in four sets and Wheaton (Illinois) in three at DeVos Fieldhouse.
Grasmeyer totaled 21 kills during a 25-20, 25-15, 25-19 win against Wheaton (7-15). She tied the school record for kills in a three-set match that she achieved twice previously and shared with Jacie Fiedler.
Grasmeyer also totaled a match-high 20 kills during a 25-16, 23-25, 25-23, 25-18 win against DePauw (Indiana) in Saturday's first match.
Senior Anna Lynch of Lake Odessa, Michigan (Lakewood HS), chipped in 18 kills against DePauw (17-6) and eight against Wheaton.
Junior Lauren Hazekamp of Fruitport, Michigan (Fruitport HS), totaled a season-high 50 assists against Wheaton. She also shared game-high honors in the match with 21 digs with junior Allie Mitchell of Grand Rapids, Michigan (Forest Hills Eastern HS).
Junior Jayne Kessel of Byron Center, Michigan (Grand Rapids South Christian HS), led against Wheaton with 15 digs.
Hope returns to action on Tuesday, Oct. 14, at Olivet. Start time is 6:30 p.m.
