Hope College football player Kirby Crook has been recognized nationally for his game-winning interception last weekend.
D3Football.com chose Crook's leaping interception that sealed a 42-35 overtime win against Olivet on Hope's homecoming its National Play of the Week for the NCAA Division III.
Crook, a senior from Beech Grove, Indiana (Beech Grove HS), leads the MIAA with five interceptions this season. He is chasing the school record of nine that belongs to Joe Diekevers set during the 2004 season.
Crook has 14 career interceptions. He is tied for third place all-time at Hope with Dave Johnson (1969-72).
They trail Kelly Clark with 18 between 1989-92 and Troy Blasius with 16 between 2004-07.
