The two leading goalscorers for the Hope College women's soccer team delivered again for the Flying Dutch in a 2-0 win at Saint Mary's on Wednesday.
The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association-leading Flying Dutch received goals from senior Nora Kirk and sophomore Elizabeth Perkins.
Perkins, pictured at right courtest of Saint Mary's College, tops Hope with eight goals this season.
Kirk now has seven goals this season, matching her career-high from the 2011 season. She has 25 for her career, putting his sixth all-time — one out of fifth place behind Tina Gill (1995-98).
Hope improved its record to 12-3-1 overall and 11-1-1 in MIAA play.
Kirk scored 18 minutes, 29 seconds into the half from 21 yards out. Senior Maria DeShaw of Holland, Michigan (West Ottawa HS), recorded the assist.
Perkins extended Hope's lead midway through the second half on a header off a free kick. Freshman Allie Wittenbach of Grand Rapids, Michigan (Forest Hills Central HS), had the assist.
Senior Kat Dickson of Grayslake, Illinois (Grayslake Central HS), made two saves for her seventh shutout.
Hope closes the regular season with three consecutive home matches.
The Flying Dutch return to action on Saturday, Oct. 25, when they host Alma at Van Andel Soccer Stadium. Kickoff is noon.
