Box Score The second-ranked Hope College volleyball team celebrated Senior Night in familiar fashion.
The Flying Dutch beat Kalamazoo in three sets on Tuesday for the 112th win for five seniors: Jenna Grasmeyer of Jenison, Michigan (Hudsonville Unity Christian HS), Anna Lynch of Lake Odessa, Michigan (Lakewood HS), Elyse Maley of Milton, Indiana (Lincoln HS), Jillian Sommerville of Plymouth, Michigan (Salem HS), and Amy VanderStoep of Holland, Michigan (West Ottawa HS).
Hope won 25-19, 25-17, 25-16 to raise its record to 26-1 overall and 14-1 in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association play.
The Flying Dutch remained tied atop the MIAA standings with Calvin. Hope can clinch the top seed for the upcoming league tournament and at least a share of a regular-season championship Friday with a win at Saint Mary's.
Against Kalamazoo, Grasmeyer recorded a match-high 13 kills with a .435 kill percentage.
VanderStoep chipped in 11 kills, while Lynch recorded nine kills.
Junior Lauren Hazekamp of Fruitport, Michigan (Fruitport HS), totaled 34 assists. Maley added six digs. Sommerville had two kills.
Hope's five seniors now have a career record of 112-16.
