The second-ranked Hope College volleyball team claimed the 13th league championship in team history on Friday with a three-set sweep at Saint Mary's.
The 25-15, 25-16, 25-7 win gave the Flying Dutch a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association record of 15-1 and a share of first place with top-ranked Calvin for the second consecutive season.

Hope (27-1 overall) will be the No. 1 seed and host next week's MIAA Tournament.
The Flying Dutch face fourth-seeded Alma (15-13) at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 7 at DeVos Fieldhouse. Alma tied with Saint Mary's but is headed to the tournament by virtue of two head-to-head wins against the Belles.
Second-seeded Calvin (25-3) will play third-seeded Trine (23-4) at 5:30 p.m. Winners meet at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 8, at Hope.
Against Saint Mary's, Hope received a match-high 10 kills from senior Jenna Grasmeyer of Jenison, Michigan (Hudsonville Unity Christian HS).
Senior Anna Lynch of Lake Odessa, Michigan (Lakewood HS), chipped in nine kills.
Junior Lauren Hazekamp of Fruitport, Michigan (Fruitport HS), totaled 27 assists and five kills.
Junior Allie Mitchell of Grand Rapids, Michigan (Forest Hills Eastern HS), had 16 digs.
