Two second-half goals powered the 23rd-ranked Hope College men's soccer team to a 2-0 win at Alma on Saturday.

The Flying Dutchmen improved to 10-2 overall and remained in sole possession of second place in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association standings with a 6-1 league record.

Senior Gavin Midlam of East Lansing, Michigan (East Lansing HS), snapped a scoreless tie 17 minutes, 47 seconds into the second half.

Senior Cameron Dice of Allendale, Michigan (Hudsonville Unity Christian HS), set up Midlam's first goal of the season with a cross to seven yards outside the goal.

Dice added his sixth goal of the season with 7:46 remaining. He scored off a corner kick.

Junior goalie Ethan Beswick of Grand Haven, Michigan (Grand Haven HS), made three saves to record his sixth shutout of the season.

Hope returns to action on Tuesday, Oct. 7, when the Flying Dutchmen host Kalamazoo. Kickoff is 7 p.m. at Van Andel Soccer Stadium.
