Nora Kirk scored twice to help the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association-leading Hope College women's soccer team claim a 3-0 win at Calvin on Saturday.
The Flying Dutch improved their record to 8-3 overall and 7-1 in league play.
Kirk scored twice in a span of 5 minutes, 15 seconds, early in the second half to expand Hope's lead to 3-0.
The senior from Maumee, Ohio (Notre Dame Academy), joined sophomore Elizabeth Perkins of Eaton Rapids, Michigan (Lansing Christian HS), for the team lead in goals with five.
Junior midfielder Kristin Hazlett of Bay Village, Ohio (Bay Village HS), set up Kirk's first goal of the match just 3:09 into the second half. Kirk's second goal of the day was unassisted.
Senior Lindsey Bieri of Holland, Michigan (Holland Christian HS), gave the Flying Dutch a 1-0 lead with 30:11 remaining in the first half off an assist from freshman Allie Wittenbach of Grand Rapids, Michigan (Forest Hills Eastern HS). It was Bieri's second goal of the season.
Senior goalie Kat Dickson of Grayslake, Illinois (Grayslake Central HS), posted her fourth shutout of the season with five saves against Calvin (5-6, 4-4 MIAA).
Hope returns to action on Wednesday, Oct. 8, at Albion. Kickoff is 4 p.m.
