The Hope College women's soccer team made a late push, but lost to Illinois Wesleyan 2-1 on Saturday in Wheaton, Illinois, in the second round of the NCAA Division III Tournament.
The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association champion Flying Dutch finished with a 17-4-2 record.
It is their second-highest number of wins in team history.
Freshman midfielder Erin Brophy of West Lafeyette, Indiana (West Lafeyette HS), scored her first goal of the season for Hope.
Brophy recorded an unassisted goal in the 81st minute to cut Illinois Wesleyan's lead to 2-1.
The Titans (16-6-1 overall) scored in the 18th and 59th minutes.
Senior goalie Kat Dickson of Grayslake, Illinois (Grayslake Central HS), made three saves.

The game was final one for nine seniors at Hope: Dickson, Lindsey Bieri of Holland, Michigan (Holland Christian HS), Maddie Buursma of Grandville, Michigan (Calvin Christian HS), Mary Cefaratti of Hinsdale, Illinois (Hinsdale Central HS), Maria DeShaw of Holland (West Ottawa HS), Brooke Dippel of Mason, Michigan (Mason HS), Erin Jipping of Holland (West Ottawa HS), Nora Kirk of Maumee, Ohio (Notre Dame Academy), and Courtney Schmidt of Lowell, Michigan (Lowell HS).
Illinois Wesleyan advanced to the sectional semifinals.
