Box Score

A record-setting effort at the free-throw line helped the Hope College men's basketball team top Wheaton (Illinois) 66-55 on Saturday in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

The Flying Dutchmen evened their overall record at 3-3 after beating Wheaton and Carthage (Wisconsin) back-to-back in the same weekend for the fourth time since the crossover tournament began in 2004.

Hope made all 20 of its foul shots, surpassing the previous record of 90.9 percent (20-22) by the 2003 Flying Dutchmen against Defiance, Ohio.

Junior guard Ben Gardner of Carmel, Indiana (Carmel HS), recorded a game-high 14 points with 10-of-10 free-throw shooting. The school record of 13 belongs to Jim VanderHill against Taylor (Indiana) in 1961.
