Flying Dutchmen Picked Second In 2014 MIAA Preseason Baseball Coaches Poll

The Hope College baseball team is second in the 2014 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Preseason Coaches Poll.

Coach Stu Fritz's Flying Dutchmen received one first-place vote and finished with 13 points.

Hope trailed unanimous preseason favorite and 2013 co-champion Adrian College, which collected all seven of its possible first-place votes. Coaches could not vote for their own team.

The Flying Dutchmen shared last season's regular-season title with Adrian. Adrian went on to win the league tournament at Hope.

Hope is slated to open the 2014 season with its annual spring break trip to Florida from March 14-20.

The Flying Dutchmen's home opener is Saturday, March 22, at home vs. Trine. It is the MIAA opener for both teams.
