Hope Sophomore Forward Lands Two Postseason Honors

Hope College's Maura McAfee has been chosen a NCAA Division III Fourth Team All-American by d3hoops.com and a Honorable Mention All-American by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association.

The sophomore forward from Midland (Midland HS) is one of 25 players recognized by d3hoops.com. The website picked five players for each of its All-American teams.

McAfee is one of six sophomores to be recognized on either the WBCA 10-player first team or honorable mention. A total of 40 players were chosen.

McAfee topped Hope this season with 14.2 points and 9.7 rebounds per game. She had the third-most rebounds in a single Flying Dutch season with 280. She also collected a team-best 14 double-doubles.

McAfee, the 2014 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association MVP, lead the Flying Dutch to a 28-1 overall record, the third undefeated regular season in team history and an outright league championship. Hope reached the second round of the NCAA Division III Tournament.
