The Hope College women's soccer team dropped its season opener at seventh-ranked Wheaton (Illinois) 4-1 on Friday at the Bob Baptista Invitational.

The Flying Dutch return to action against Carthage (Wisconsin) on Saturday, Aug. 30, at 11:30 a.m. Central time. Carthage lost to Alma 2-0 in Friday's first match.

Junior midfielder Kristin Hazlett of Bay Village, Ohio (Bay HS), pictured above, opened the match's scoring just 9 minutes, 2 seconds in on an unassisted goal.

Wheaton rebounded with three goals before halftime.
