The Hope College women's soccer team remained undefeated in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association play on Saturday by beating Saint Mary's College 2-1.
The match was part of a Purple Games event for Van Andel Institute's cancer and Parkinson's disease research.
Senior Nora Kirk of Maumee, Ohio (Notre Dame Academy) and sophomore Elizabeth Perkins of Eaton Rapids, Michigan (Lansing Christian HS), both scored for the MIAA-leading Flying Dutch.
Hope extended its win streak to five matches in front of a Van Andel Soccer Stadium crowd of 353.
The Flying Dutch raised their record to 6-2 overall and 5-0 in league play.
Kirk scored her first goal of the season 14 minutes, 15 seconds into the second half. She pushed Hope's lead to 2-0 off an assist from sophomore Natalie Curry of Grand Rapids, Michigan (Grandville Calvin Christian HS).
Perkins delivered her team-leading fifth goal of the season 55 seconds into the match.
