The Hope College men's soccer team dropped its first Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association match of the season on Tuesday, losing 4-1 at Calvin.
Senior forward Brandon Underwood of Grand Rapids, Michigan (Forest Hills Eastern HS), scored in the second half for the sixth-ranked Flying Dutchmen.
Underwood's second goal of the season came off an assist from sophomore Forrest Chong of Brighton, Michigan (Brighton HS).
The Flying Dutchmen fell to 7-2 overall and 2-1 in the MIAA play after their six-game win streak was snapped.
Calvin, which scored three first-half goals, improved to 6-2 overall and 3-0 in league action.
"It's one loss in the league," Hope coach Steven Smith said. "Nobody has ever made it through the league unscathed. We would like to win the league outright yet.
"I see this as an offset for us that makes us work harder now. These games are going to be like that, back and forth. The ones who score on those opportunities are going to win."
