Senior Jenna Grasmeyer and the top-ranked Hope College volleyball team swept a 14th opponent on Tuesday when they defeated Saint Mary's 25-16, 25-14, 25-15.
The Flying Dutch remained the only unbeaten team in NCAA Division III by improving to 16-0 overall and 8-0 in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association play.
Grasmeyer, an outside hitter from Jenison, Michigan (Hudsonville Unity Christian HS), recorded a match-high 10 kills on the DeVos Fieldhouse Volleyball Court.
Junior Lauren Hazekamp of Fruitport, Michigan (Fruitport HS), totaled nine kills in just 12 attempts to go along with 27 assists.
Senior Jillian Sommerville of Plymouth, Michigan (Salem HS), chipped in eight kills.
Junior Allie Mitchell of Grand Rapids, Michigan (Forest Hills Eastern HS), led with nine digs against Saint Mary's (7-7, 4-4 MIAA).
The Flying Dutch entered the match ranked No. 1 in the nation in hitting percentage (.302), kills per set (14.3) and assists (13.45).
Hope returns to action on Friday, Oct. 3, when the Flying Dutch play at Adrian. Start time is 6:30 p.m.
