The third-ranked Hope College volleyball team swept Alma College and the University of Chicago on Saturday at DeVos Fieldhouse.
The Flying Dutch raised their record to 6-0 overall with the sweep and 2-0 in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association play after defeating Alma.
Against Chicago (4-4), Hope won 25-13, 25-18, 25-19 behind a match-high 11 kills from senior outside hitter Jenna Grasmeyer of Jenison, Michigan (Hudsonville Unity Christian HS).
Senior outside hitter Anna Lynch of Lake Odessa, Michigan (Lakewood) added nine kills. The Flying Dutch hit .317 as a team.
Junior setter Lauren Hazekamp of Fruitport, Michigan (Fruitport HS), collected 34 assists and 10 digs.
Against Alma (6-3), Hazekamp directed a balanced Hope attack during a 25-17, 25-11, 25-13 win with 37 assists, while Lynch topped with 12 kills.
Senior outside hitter Amy VanderStoep of Holland, Michigan (West Ottawa HS), chipped in 10 kills and Grasmeyer had nine. Both Grasmeyer and VanderStoep hit a .643 clip.
Hope returns to action on Wednesday, Sept. 10, when it hosts Olivet on the DeVos Fieldhouse volleyball court for a 6:30 p.m. match.
