Junior guards Alex Eidson and Ben Gardner equaled their season-high in points to lead the Hope men's basketball team in a 95-85 win at Olivet on Saturday.

Eidson, of Grand Haven, Michigan (Grand Haven HS), and Gardner, of Carmel, Indiana (Carmel HS), scored 22 and 21 points, to match their personal best this season.

Sophomore forward Harrison Blackledge of Canton, Ohio (Hoover HS), chipped in 20 points for the Flying Dutchmen.

Hope improved to 9-6 overall and evened its MIAA record at 2-2.

The Flying Dutchmen outscored Olivet 46-37 during the second half.

Sophomore forward Cody Stuive of Hudsonville, Michigan (Hudsonville HS), netted a season-high 15 points off the bench for Hope.

The Flying Dutchmen helped their cause at the foul line, making 82.1 percent of their attempts (32-of-39). Blackledge went 12-of-13 at the free-throw line, while Gardner was 9-of-10.

Hope outscored Olivet 32-15 at the foul line after earning 18 more attempts. 

The Flying Dutchmen sent Olivet to 2-13 overall and 0-4 in MIAA play.
