Hope Women's Basketball's Rebekah Llorens Named MIAA Player Of Week

Hope College's Rebekah Llorens has been selected as the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played through January 3.

The senior from Grayslake, Illinois (Grayslake Central HS), recorded three consecutive double-doubles last week while averaging 15.3 points, 12 rebounds and 2.7 steals.

Hope won all three games, using two of them to claim a tournament championship.

Llorens scored a career-high 23 points and pulled down 12 rebounds in a 69-60 victory over Capital, Ohio, on Friday.

She also had 11 points and 12 rebounds in a 63-48 win over Ohio Wesleyan in the championship game of a tournament hosted by Ohio Wesleyan on Wednesday.

Llorens totaled 12 points and 12 rebounds in a 74-60 win over York, Pennsylvania, on Tuesday at Ohio Wesleyan.

Llorens had 18 offensive rebounds among her 36 total rebounds for the week.

Llorens is being honored as Player of the Week for the first time this season and fourth time in her career.
