Erin LaBarge and Catherine Wingrove won three matches for the Hope College women's tennis team to take first place in the No. 3 doubles flight at the two-day Wisconsin-Whitewater Invitational.
LaBarge, a freshman from Hudsonville, Michigan (Hudsonville HS), and Wingrove, a sophomore from Okemos, Michigan (Okemos HS), played together for the first time this season.
LaBarge and Wingrove defeated Cardinal Stritch's Megan Kos/Patricia Grief 8-6 in the finals.
They also beat Wisconsin-Whitewater's Kassie Alexander and Brittany Goebel 8-4 in the semifinals and Olivet Nazarene's Clare Reugsegger and Anna Kuechenberg 8-5 in the first round.
The two-day tournament concludes on Saturday.
