Hope will play at Washington University in St. Lous

The MIAA-champion Hope College women's tennis team will travel to St. Louis, Missouri, this week to compete in the NCAA Division III Championships for the 14th consecutive season and 19th time overall.

The Flying Dutch will open a seven-team, three-day regional at defending national champion Washington University in St. Louis on Thursday, May 7, with a first-round match against Ohio Northern University (18-4) at a time to be announced.

The Hope-Ohio Northern winner advances to face WashU (17-3) in the second round of Friday, May 8. The regional final will be played on Saturday, May 9.

The Flying Dutch defeated Ohio Northern, 6-1, on Feb. 7 in Ada, Ohio.

The other side of the bracket features two first-round matches: Kenyon College (18-5) against Rose Hulman Institute of Technology (13-8) and Grinnell College (16-6) and Wheaton College (16-5).

The Flying Dutch (16-7) continued an unprecedented 14-year as MIAA Tournament champion on Saturday by topping second-seeded Calvin University, 4-0, in Saturday's finals at VandePoel-Heeringa Stadium Courts.

Hope, which three-peated as MIAA regular season champion, features three All-MIAA selections: senior Amanda Lopykinski, sophomore Hadley Krygier and freshman Jana Beier. Lopykinski and Krygier are two of six first-team selections. Beier is a second-team honoree.
