Hope College placekicker Darren Ford is the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Special Teams Player of the Week for games played through October 10.

The sophomore from Howell, Michigan (Howell HS), claimed MIAA honors for the first time for his performance during a 34-0 win at Rockford, Illinois on Saturday.

Ford posted a perfect day during the nonleague game with 10 points, going 2-for-2 on field-goal attempts, including a long of 33 yards, and converting four extra points.

This is Ford's first season with the Flying Dutchmen.

Hope returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 17 when the Flying Dutchmen travel to unbeaten Olivet. Kickoff is 1 p.m.
