Box Score 2 The 13th-ranked Hope College volleyball team served up a perfect run through this weekend's Midwest Invitational that included three wins over nationally ranked opponents.
On Saturday, the Flying Dutch defeated No. 9 Eastern, Pennsylvania in five sets and No. 18 Clarkson, N.Y. , in three sets at Calvin College. Hope improved to 18-5 overall.
Senior setter Lauren Hazekamp of Fruitport, Michigan (Fruitport HS), was named to the eight-player, all-tournament team.
Hazekamp totaled 24 assists, seven digs and six kills during the 25-16, 26-16, 25-20 win against Clarkson.
Junior outside hitter Sarah Feldpausch of White Cloud, Michigan (White Cloud HS), led the Flying Dutch with 13 kills.
Hazekamp collected 46 assists, a match-high 16 kills and 11 digs during a 22-25, 25-17, 25-22, 19-25, 15-12 win against Eastern.
Feldpausch and sophomore Haley Muller of Grand Rapids, Michigan (Grand Rapids HS), each chipped in 11 kills.
Hope returns to action on Tuesday, Oct. 20 at Trine. The match starts at 6:30 p.m.
