Hope College punter Dean DeVries has earned Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Special Teams Player of the Week honors for games played through October 31.

The senior from Grand Rapids, Michigan (Grandville HS) booted six punts for an average of 47.5 yards last weekend during a 14-3 setback to Adrian on Saturday.

DeVries boomed a long of 54 yards on the day.

This is the third time in his career DeVries has claimed MIAA Special Teams Player of the Week honors.

DeVries is on pace to become Hope's career leader in punting average. He already is the single-season recordholder for punting average.
