The Hope College women's basketball team is runner-up in the 2015-16 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Preseason Coaches Poll.
The Flying Dutch received two of eight-possible first-place votes and finished second to defending champion Calvin. Coaches could not vote for their own teams.
Hope is coming off a 25-5 season in which the Flying Dutch reached the sectional semifinals in the NCAA Division III Tournament. Hope returns two starters, including D3Hoos.com preseason All-American Maura McAfee at forward.
The Flying Dutch's season opener is Saturday, Nov. 14 at Defiance (Ohio).
Head coach Brian Morehouse is in his 20th season with the Flying Dutch.
