Senior Matthew Culver of Clinton Township, Michigan (Fraser HS), and sophomore Sam Kreps of Holland, Michigan (Holland HS), won their season debut at No. 1 doubles on Tuesday for the Hope College men's tennis team.

The Flying Dutchmen lost 8-1 to Davenport in a nonleague match at DeWitt Tennis Center.

Culver and Kreps defeated Davenport's Sam Rogerson and Matteus Carvalho 8-5. Culver and Kreps now own a 2-1 overall record as doubles partners this season.

Hope is now 1-3 on the season.

The Flying Dutchmen return to action on Monday when they face Wisconsin-Lacrosse in Orlando, Florida, at 9 a.m.
