The Hope College women's basketball team will meet St. Thomas, Minnesota, in the NCAA Division III Tournament for the second time in three seasons on Friday.
Tipoff in the sectional semifinals at 5 p.m. Eastern at Thomas More College in Crestview Hills, Kentucky.
Hope is 25-4 on the season, while St. Thomas is 29-0. The winner faces either Thomas More or Washington-St. Louis in Saturday's 7 p.m. Eastern national quarterfinal.
GAME NOTES
Hope has advanced to the sectional round of the NCAA Division III Tournament for the eighth time in school history. The Flying Dutch own a 7-1 record in sectional semifinals. In their last appearance, Hope defeated St. Thomas, Minnesota, 71-61, in the Whitewater, Wisconsin. It was the teams' first all-time meeting.
The Flying Dutch are making their 16th NCAA Division III Tournament appearance all-time. Hope has reached the postseason nine times in the past 10 seasons. The Flying Dutch own a 33-13 record in NCAA Tournament games.
Maura McAfee is the first Flying Dutch player to surpass 300 rebounds in a single season. She has 305 to pass previous recordholder Amanda Kerkstra, who grabbed 290 during the 2002-03 season. Her 63 blocks are second-most all-time at Hope, trailing only Carrie Snikkers' 71 in 2009-10.
Senior guard Brittany Berry is Hope's single-season and career leader in 3-pointers made. She has 225 3-pointers over four seasons (2010-11, 2012-15), including a record-setting 81 this season. She also is tied for third in a single season with 65 in 2012-13 and fifth with 62 in 2013-14.
Brittany Berry is tied for 10th all-time at Hope with 106 assists this season. She shares the total with Julie Henderson (2007-08). Eighth place is 108, shared by Henderson (2005-06) and Lissa Nienhuis (1990-91). The school record of 153 belongs to Sue Buikema (1985-86). Junior guard Autumn Anderson has 101 assists this season.
Hope's 16.2 assists per game matches the 2004-05 Flying Dutch for the highest average in team history. The 470 total assists is fourth most at Hope.

Hope coach Brian Morehouse is the Flying Dutch's winningest coach. He has a record of 479-75 over 19 seasons — an 86.5 win percentage that ranks among the nation's elite among active coaches. Hope has gone to the NCAA Division III tourney 14 times during Brian Morehouse's tenure. The Flying Dutch have reached the 20-win mark 17 times in a row during his tenure, won a national title in 2006, played in two Final Fours and earned 12 MIAA championships.
Hope advanced to sectional play with a 72-47 win against Wisconsin Lutheran on March 7 in Wheaton, Illinois. Maura McAfee's game-high 19 points led the Flying Dutch, while Brittany Berry chipped in 15 points on five 3-pointers and Rebekah Llorens added 10 points. Hope defeated Bethel, Minnesota, 75-63 in a first-round game on March 6 at Wheaton. McAfee's 22 points and 11 rebounds led the Flying Dutch for her 15th double-season of the season. Llorens added 18 points and 10 rebounds for her sixth double-double this season.
All four of Hope's losses this season have come to teams in the NCAA Tournament. The Flying Dutch lost three times to MIAA rival Calvin and once at home to Wheaton, Illinois.
Hope is one of six schools with multiple national titles in women's basketball, winning in 2006 and 1990. Washington-St. Louis leads with five.
