Three Hope College basketball players are scheduled to play in Wednesday's Champions of Character All-Star Basketball games at Davenport University in Grand Rapids.
Seniors Brittany Berry and Rebekah Llorens will represent the Flying Dutch during the 6 p.m. women's game, while senior Corey McMahon will suit up for the 7:30 p.m. men's game.
Tickets are $5 per person and $15 for families. They can be purchased at the door.
The goal of the games is to raise $5,000 to $7,500 to support the "Champions of Character Lecturing Initiative" to OK Conference high schools. The intent is to have every player, coach, referee, parent, and spectator commit back to the true spirit (fun) of competition through "Respect, Integrity, Responsibility, Servant Leadership, and Sportsmanship."
Berry, Llorens and McMahon will play for the Family Fare All-Stars along with players from Calvin, Grace Bible and Grand Valley State. Their opponents will be from Aquinas, Cornerstone, Davenport, Ferris State and Kuyper.
