Two three-set victories were not enough for the Hope College men's tennis team as the Flying Dutchmen dropped a 6-3 decision at Adrian on Wednesday.

At No. 1 singles, senior Cody Herbruck of Grand Rapids, Michigan (Forest Hills Central HS), defeated Adrian's Brandon Brom 6-2, 2-6, 6-2.

At No. 4 singles, freshman Sam Schuster of DeWitt, Michigan (DeWitt HS), beat Adrian's Jeff Sophiea 6-7 (4), 6-3, 10-8.

Herbruck also teamed with senior Colin McKey of Stevensville, Michigan (Lakeshore HS), at No. 2 doubles for an 8-3 win against Adrian's Alex Amos and Sophiea. 

The Flying Dutchmen fell to 1-2 in MIAA play and 3-13 overall. Adrian improved to 17-4 overall and 3-1 in league matches.
