Hope Men's Tennis Loses Nonleague Match To D-II Cedarville, Ohio

Matthew Culver, Jonathan Hoffman and William Yancey were winners for the Hope College men's tennis team during a 7-2 loss to NCAA Division II Cedarville, Ohio, on Saturday at VandePoel-Heeringa Stadium Courts.

Culver, a senior from Clinton Township, Michigan (Fraser HS), earned a 7-6, 6-4 win at No. 3 singles against Cedarville's Jon Class.

Hoffman, a junior from Holland, Michigan (West Ottawa HS), and Yancey, a freshman from Wayzata, Minnesota (Wayzata HS), claimed an 8-6 win at No. 3 doubles against the Cedarville pair of Stephen Combs and David Carter.

The Flying Dutchmen are now 3-14 on the season.

Hope returns to action on Tuesday when the Flying Dutchmen host Albion for a 4 p.m. match.
