The Hope College men's tennis team has a lot to play for Saturday at VandePoel-Heeringa Stadium Courts.
The Flying Dutchmen host Calvin at 11 a.m. with much more than bragging rights in The Rivalry at stake.
Hope can claim a berth in next week's MIAA Tournament with a win that would even the Flying Dutchmen's MIAA record at 3-3. Calvin, looking to improve to 4-2 in league play, could do so as well.
Hope also will honor former Hope women's tennis coach Karen Page with its annual Pink Out match. Page lost a brave, five-year battle to breast cancer during the July of 2009. She led the Flying Dutch to four Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association titles during her tenure that lasted from 1998-2009. She also served as DeWitt Tennis Center manager.
Saturday is also Senior Day for the Flying Dutchmen. Hope will honor three seniors: Matthew Culver of Clinton Township, Michigan (Fraser HS), Cody Herbruck of Grand Rapids, Michigan (Forest Hills Central HS), and Colin McKey of Stevensville, Michigan (Lakeshore HS).
