The Hope College men's tennis team defeated visiting Alma 6-3 on Tuesday at Vande Poel-Heeringa Stadium Courts and evened its MIAA record at 1-1.

Two players earned two points apiece for the Flying Dutchmen.

Seniors Cody Herbruck of Grand Rapids, Michigan (Forest Hills Central HS), and Colin McKey of Stevensville, Michigan (Stevensville-Lakeshore HS), teamed together for an 8-1 win at No. 2 doubles.

McKey outlasted his opponent at No. 1 singles for a 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 win.

Herbruck won his match at No. 2 singles 6-4, 6-3.

Hope (3-10 overall) returns to action on Friday and Saturday, April 10-11, when the Flying Dutchmen host the North Coast Athletic Conference Challenge.

The Flying Dutchmen will play Oberlin, Ohio and Wittenberg, Ohio on Friday and Wabash, Indiana on Saturday.
