Box Score Rachael Braginton quickly is making multiple-goal games a habit for the Hope College women's soccer team.
The freshman forward from Grandville, Michigan (Grandville HS), scored two goals for the second consecutive game on Friday as she led the Flying Dutch to a 4-1 win at Otterbein (Ohio).
Hope improved to 2-0 overall with the nonleague win.
Braginton opened the scoring for the Flying Dutch in the 14th minute. She tapped in a cross from sophomore Erin Brophy of West Lafayette, Indiana (West Lafayette HS).
Hope tacked on three more goals during the second half.
Junior midfielder Sarah Fazio of Holland, Michigan (Holland Christian HS), struck for her first goal of the season 1:02 after the second half kicked off. Brophy had the assist.
Braginton headed in a cross from sophomore Allie Wittenbach of Ada, Michigan (Forest Hills Central HS), six minutes later for her fourth goal of the season.
Senior midfielder Kristin Hazlett of Bay Village, Ohio (Bay HS), added an unassisted goal in the 69th minute. It was her first of the season.
Sophomore goalie Mary Clare Theis of East Lansing, Michigan (Haslett HS), made two saves for Hope and did not allow a goal until 1:58 was remaining
The Flying Dutch return to action on Saturday, Sept. 5 with a 5 p.m. match at Ohio Northern.
