The Hope College women's soccer team remains in second place in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association standings despite a 1-0 loss at Albion on Saturday.

The Flying Dutch were shut out for just the second time in 14 matches this season, even though they outshot Albion by a 19-5 margin.

Albion goalie Maggie Troost made six saves.

Hope (9-3-2 overall, 8-2-2 MIAA) missed a chance to make up ground on Kalamazoo, which lost 2-0 at Calvin on Saturday.

The Flying Dutch return to action on Wednesday, Oct. 19 vs. Olivet at Van Andel Soccer Stadium. The 4 p.m. match is part of Purple Community doubleheader to benefit Van Andel Institute's biomedical research and science education.
