Elizabeth Perkins closed out a 4-1 win at Alma for the Hope College women's soccer team on Saturday with two record-setting goals.

The senior from Eaton Rapids, Michigan (Lansing Christian HS) became the Flying Dutch's first 20-goal scorer by scoring twice to end the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association match. She now has 34 goals over three seasons.

Perkins, pictured, surpassed the previous school goal record shared by Tracy Phelps (1996) and Melody Morscheck (1997).

Hope improved to 11-3-2 overall and 10-2-2 in MIAA matches.

Junior Allie Wittenbach of Ada, Michigan (Forest Hills Central) opened the scoring 1 minute, 2 seconds into the match with her sixth goal of the season. Perkins recorded her fifth assist on the play.

Alma (7-4-4, 6-3-4 MIAA) tied the score eight minutes later, but the Flying Dutch reclaimed the lead 5:03 into the second half. Perkins set up junior Erin Brophy of West Lafayette, Indiana (West Lafayette) for her seventh goal of the season. It was Perkins' team-leading sixth assist.

Perkins then followed with unassisted goals at 61:41 and 72:18 to break open the game.

Perkins moved within two points of matching Phelps' single-season Hope point record of 48.

Perkins has a league-leading 17 goals in MIAA play this season, tied for 13th most in league history.

In her career, Perkins has 34 goals — sixth-most in the Flying Dutch history. 

Hope returns to action on Wednesday, Oct. 26 with a 7 p.m. match vs. Saint Mary's at Van Andel Soccer Stadium. It is Senior Night.
