Football Places 6 Players On All-MIAA First Team, 4 On Second Team

The Hope College football team put six players on the 2016 All-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association First Team: running back Brandan Campbell, defensive back Kimani Dooley, offensive lineman Justin Fairfield, kicker Darren Ford, linebacker Aaron O'Meara and offensive lineman Michael Stephan.

Campbell led the MIAA with 895 rushing yards and nine rushing touchdowns in his first season at Hope. The junior from Otsego, Michigan (Otsego) reached the 100-yard rushing mark against five of six league opponents.

Dooley recorded 13 tackles in six MIAA games. The junior from Detroit, Michigan (Clarenceville) also intercepted one pass.

Fairfield and Stephan anchored an offensive line that totaled a league-high 1,622 yards for an MIAA-best average of 270.3 yards. Fairfield, a junior from North Muskegon, Michigan (North Muskegon), started at right guard, while Stephan, a senior from Belding, Michigan (Belding), started at center.

Ford tied an MIAA record with 11 field goals in 16 attempts over six league games. The junior from Howell, Michigan (Howell) also converted all 16 of his PATs and averaged 38.2 yards over 29 punts against MIAA foes.

O'Meara finished fourth in the MIAA with 62 tackles. He also totaled seven tackles for loss, including 2 ½ sacks.

Four Hope players received All-MIAA Second Team honors: defensive back Andy Lucas, running back Mike Miklusicak, linebacker Jacob Pardonnet and defensive lineman Zach Telfor.

Lucas made 28 tackles in six MIAA games. The senior from McBain, Michigan (McBain) also intercepted two passes.

Miklusicak rushed for 622 yards on 109 carries in MIAA play. The junior from Wayland, Michigan (Wayland) totaled six touchdowns.

Pardonnet recorded 35 tackles in six league games. The junior from Brighton, Michigan (Brighton HS) also collected 2 ½ sacks and two fumble recoveries.

Telfor totaled 31 tackles during five MIAA games. The junior from Charlotte, Michigan (Charlotte) also recorded four sacks.
