The Rivalry resumes on Wednesday, Nov. 30 with the 2016-17 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association opener for the Hope College and Calvin College women's basketball teams.
Tipoff is 7:30 p.m. at DeVos Fieldhouse.
Both teams are undefeated this season: Hope at 5-0 and Calvin at 6-0. Hope is ranked 10th in this week's D3Hoops.com poll, while Calvin debuts at No. 24.
This is the 116th Hope-Calvin women's basketball game. The Flying Dutch trail 70-45 but have won 30 of 44 games since 2000.
The Flying Dutch are seeking back-to-back MIAA titles this season and were picked first in the MIAA preseason coaches poll. Calvin finished third.
Hope coach Brian Morehouse is 32-20 all-time against the Knights. This is Chuck Winkelman's first game against the Flying Dutch as Calvin head coach.
Forward Francesca Buchanan is tied for second in the MIAA in scoring at 17.8 points per game and tied for third at 8.0 rebounds per game. Hope has four of the MIAA's top 13 scorers: forward Mandy Traversa 10th at 12.4 points per game, guard Angelique Gaddy 11th at 12.0 points per game and guard Tyra Smith tied for 13th at 11.8 points per game.
Calvin's lineup includes two of the MIAA's top eight scorers. Guards Ali Spayde and Anna Timmer are seventh and eighth, respectively, at 16.2 points and 15.2 points per game. Timmer tops the MIAA in field-goal percentage at 66.0 (35-of-53).
