Hope College's Justin Fairfield has been selected an Honorable Mention All-America offensive guard by D3football.com for the 2016 season.

The junior from North Muskegon, Michigan (North Muskegon HS) played a significant role in the Flying Dutchmen's 7-3 overall record and their greatest single-season turnaround in team history.

Fairfield started for an offensive line that rushed for a school-record 2,738 yards over 10 games. He helped paved the way for two 1,000-yard rushers running backs in juniors Brandan Campbell and Mike Miklusicak - a first in Hope's storied history.

"Justin was a difference maker on our offensive line," Hope football coach Peter Stuursma said. "His strength is his ability to move people because of his leverage, and he uses his quick feet to pass protect. We are honored that he has been recognized."

Fairfield was one of Hope's six All-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association First-Team players and a record four D3football North Region honorees.
