Hope Women's Lacrosse Ranks Third In 2016 MIAA Preseason Coaches Poll

The Hope College women's lacrosse team finished third in the 2016 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Preseason Women's Lacrosse Coaches Poll.

Coach Kim Vincent's Flying Dutch totaled 24 points to trail only preseason favorite Calvin and second-place Albion.

Calvin, which received six first-place votes, was last season's regular season-champion, while Albion, which picked up the other three first-place votes, won the 2015 MIAA Tournament.

The Flying Dutch are coming off a 2015 season in which they posted a 6-9 overall record in Vincent's first season. They tied for third place in the MIAA standings with a 5-3 league record.

Hope features a roster of 21 players with three seniors, seven juniors, six sophomores and five freshmen.

The Flying Dutch return two of their three players who received All-MIAA recognition last season.

Senior defender Mackenzie Schumborg of Ann Arbor, Michigan (Saline HS) claimed first-team honors.

Junior midfielder Dana Kym of Libertyville, Illinois (Libertyville HS) was a second –team selection.

Hope opens the 2016 season on Friday, Feb. 26 vs. Otterbein, Ohio in Brighton, Michigan.
