Hope Women's Lacrosse To Host Michigan Women's Lacrosse Flint Charity Game

The Hope College women's lacrosse team is joining a statewide effort to aid the response to the Flint water crisis.

The Flying Dutch's April 9 home match against Adrian will be one of the Michigan Women's Lacrosse Helping Flint charity games. Start time is noon at Van Andel Stadium.

Hope is intending to raise awareness for how to help the citizens of Flint, whose drinking water has been contaminated with lead and seen public health problems rise. A federal state of emergency was declared in January.

Hope and Adrian are two of 14 collegiate women's lacrosse programs across the state participating in the initiative.

Others taking part are: Albion, Alma, Aquinas, Calvin, Central Michigan, Detroit, Grand Valley State, Kalamazoo, Lawrence Tech, Michigan, Olivet and Siena Heights.

Tax-deductible donations are encouraged to be made to the Greater Flint Child Health & Development Fund through the Community Foundation of Greater Flint online at www.flintkids.org.
