Hilary Curry's first two-goal game for the Hope College women's soccer team helped the Flying Dutch earn a 4-0 win at Saint Mary's on Friday in Notre Dame, Indiana.
The sophomore from Grand Rapids, Michigan (Grandville Calvin Christian HS) scored in each half as Hope remained unbeaten in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association play.
The Flying Dutch improved to 6-1-2 overall and 5-0-2 in MIAA matches.
Senior Elizabeth Perkins of Eaton Rapids, Michigan (Lansing Christian) opened the scoring 21 minutes, 17 seconds into the first half off an assist from sophomore Grace Bubin of Rockford, Michigan (Rockford).
It was Perkins' team-leading 11th goal of the season and the 25th of her career.
Perkins then set up Curry, pictured, for her first goal of the game one minute before halftime for a 2-0 lead.
Bubin stretched the lead to 3-0 by netting her first goal of the season 7:13 into the second half.
Curry closed the scoring 16 ½ minutes off an assist from sophomore Rachael Braginton of Grandville, Michigan (Grandville).
Junior goalie Mary Clare Theis of East Lansing, Michigan (Haslett) made one save against Saint Mary's (1-7-0, 0-5-0 MIAA) for her first shutout of the season.
Hope returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 1 with a noon match against Calvin at Van Andel Soccer Stadium.
