The Hope College volleyball team swept Kalamazoo College in three sets on Senior Day and clinched a berth in next month's Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Tournament.

The Flying Dutch won 25-9, 25-15, 25-9 at DeVos Fieldhouse to raise their record to 16-9 overall and 11-3 in MIAA play.

Junior Katie Rietberg of Holland, Michigan (West Ottawa) led a balanced Hope attack with nine kills.

The Flying Dutch totaled 40 kills while hitting .385 as a team.

Senior Paige Baker of Encinitas, California (La Costa Canyon) collected eight kills for Hope.

Senior Haley Muller of Grand Rapids, Michigan (Grand Rapids Christian) chipped in seven kills.

Senior Sophie Hackett of Indianapolis, Indiana (Brebeuf Jesuit Prep) totaled 34 assists and six kills.

Senior Leah Dunlap of Winfield, Illinois (Wheaton North) had five kills.

Senior Mallory Luke of Saline, Michigan (Saline) made nine digs against Kalamazoo (5-17, 2-11 MIAA).

Hope will be either the No. 2 or No. 3 seed for the November 3 MIAA Tournament semifinals at Calvin College.

The Flying Dutch play at first-place Calvin College on Tuesday and at third-place Albion College on Saturday, October 28 to complete the regular season. Hope leads Albion by two games in the loss column.
