Box Score
Logan Bylsma scored his first goal of the season for the Hope College men's soccer team in a 3-1 loss at Adrian College on Saturday.
The Flying Dutchmen finished the regular season with a 7-9-2 overall record and in fourth place in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association standings with a 6-6-2 league record.
Hope will be the No. 3 seed for next week's MIAA Tournament because third-place Kalamazoo College is not eligible for postseason play.
The Flying Dutchmen will head back to Adrian on Wednesday for an MIAA Tournament semifinal at a time to be determined. Top-seeded Calvin College will host the other semifinal Wednesday against an opponent to be determined.
On Saturday, all four goals came during the second half.
Bylsma, a sophomore defender from Hudsonville, Michigan (Hudsonville HS), pictured, cut Adrian's lead to 2-1 by burying a rebound from six yards out with 3 minutes, 55 seconds remaining in regulation.
Sophomore Dalton Bruso of Bloomington, Illinois (Normal Community) had the initial shot and claimed the assist.
Adrian (10-5-2, 9-3-2 MIAA) answered 20 seconds later when Brad Squires followed up his own shot with a goal.
