Hope College's Eric Plaehn has been selected the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Baseball Pitcher of the Week for games played March 6-11.

The senior lefthander from Lansing, Michigan (Catholic Central HS) fired a four-hit shutout in a season-opening, 2-0 victory against Blackburn, Illinois on Friday at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois.

Plaehn struck out five during his seven-inning complete game and did not walk a batter.

He did not allow any batter advance past first base.

This is Plaehn's first MIAA Pitcher of the Week award.
