Hope College's Francesca Buchanan has received D3hoops.com Great Lakes Region first-team recognition for the 2016-17 season.

The sophomore forward from Grant, Michigan (Sparta HS) is one of five first-team all-region selections and 15 honorees overall from the region. She is eligible for All-America consideration.

Buchanan averaged a team-best 15.5 points per game this season on 56.6 percent field-goal shooting that ranked second in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association.

Buchanan also was second on the Flying Dutch at 5.7 rebounds per game.

Buchanan previously was selected an All-MIAA First Team selection by the league's coaches. The Flying Dutch went 24-5 this season, including a second-place mark of 14-2 in MIAA play. Hope advanced to the sectional semifinals of the NCAA Division III Tournament.
