Men's Tennis Finishes Busy Week With Sweep Of Albion

The Hope College men's tennis team closed out a busy, three-match week with a 9-0 victory against visiting Albion on Friday.

The Flying Dutchmen took five of the six singles flights in straight sets.

Hope upped its overall record to 7-9 and its Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association record to 4-1.

The Flying Dutchmen are tied for second place in the MIAA with Adrian but hold a tiebreaker edge over the Bulldogs after beating them on Tuesday.

Against Albion, sophomore Michael Kiley of Muskegon, Michigan (Mona Shores HS) rallied for a 3-6, 6-2, 10-5 win at No. 1 singles.

Senior Sam Kreps of Holland, Michigan (Holland) and sophomore Justin Folkert of Hamilton, Michigan (Hamilton) outlasted Albion's Israel Trevino and Toma Shngoo 9-7 at No. 3 doubles.

Hope's next match is Wednesday, April 19 at Trine.
