Michael Kiley Repeats As All-MIAA Men's Tennis First-Team Selection

Hope College's Michael Kiley has claimed All-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Men's Tennis honors for the second consecutive season.

The sophomore from Muskegon, Michigan (Mona Shores HS) played No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles and helped the Flying Dutchmen to a second-place finish in the MIAA regular-season standings.

Sophomore Danny Kroeze of Holland, Michigan (Holland Christian) was named to the All-MIAA Second Team by the league's coaches.

Kiley, pictured, posted a 5-2 doubles record and a 3-3 singles record during league matches.

Interim head coach Nate Price said Kiley has had a very solid season.

"He's always ready for a battle and is in peak physical condition," Price said. " He's made great strides in his net game and I think this is allowing him to play well at 1 singles and also at 1 doubles."

Kroeze played No. 2 singles and No. 2 doubles for the Flying Dutchmen. He went 5-2 in singles matches vs. MIAA foes and 3-3 in doubles.

"Danny is probably our best fighter/toughest competitor," Price said. "His knowledge of how to use his left-handed game is ever improving and allowing him to open the court and close out points with his net skills."
